Empire State Building Will Lose Its Highest Status

Empire State Building was built in 1931 and it was the New York city’s tallest building at a height of 1,545. In 1972 title was  was overtaken by World Trade Center towers. On September 11, 2001 after terrorist attacks, which destroyed the twin towers, Empire State Building then again regained the title.

 

But not for long, new tower formerly called the Freedom Tower will stand at 1,776 feet  when it’s completed, possibly by late 2013.

As the first office tower to rise on the actual World Trade Center site.
Freedom Tower uses new technologies and methods to maximize efficiency,

minimize waste and pollution and reduce the impacts of the development
for all concerned.
